Hallowe'en-style Pony!

Unfortunately, Marco managed to injure himself again last weekend.  We think he must have been foraging for food in the hedges and caught himself on some barbed wire.  This is the second time this summer that he has cut himself badly on barbed wire, and thank god they will soon be moving to the winter turnout fields where there is NO barbed wire at all.  I hate the stuff, and especially given how clueless he is with it, we've been relatively lucky so far (in that he's injured himself but not fatally), but it's just too much of a risk...

So, he now has very neat staples just below his eye, and staples in his leg, with a HUGE bandage!  He's on box rest again which he hates, bless him, but at the moment it all seems to be healing really well, and the vet is happy with it, so fingers crossed it continues so!  And please God, let this be the last injury for a while...

I've tried to put links to the pictures below - I don't know why I can't upload the photos directly - perhaps because I don't have a paid account?

Poor Marco - a real franken-pony at the moment!

I can't see the photos I'm afraid. Sounds pretty nasty though. Could you not run some electric tape inside the barbed wire? Our fields are kind of lined with tape at the moment cos we don't trust the fences terribly well...

The yard owners have been slowly taking out the barbed wire and replacing it with electric fencing, but there are still pockets of it around and unfortunately, there's not much we can do ourselves...

Hmm... I'm not sure what is happening with the photos - I shall have to google and see what I'm doing wrong! Meanwhile, here's links to the photos on facebook if you're interested! - <http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=3367223&id=599155739> and <http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/photo.php?pid=3367224&id=599155739>.

Well I'm in work and the firewall prohibits Facebook, so that's probably why I can't see them...
